Description: this archeological area consists of a sanctuary, dating from the nuragic period, with a well temple, a nuraghe and a nuragic village.

The beautiful well temple, which dates back to the End of the Bronze Age (about 900 B.C.), is built with square blocks. There is a vestibule, a stair that descends under the ground and an underground tholos room, which are all enclosed by a wall.  At the bottom of the filled in room, there is the sacred spring.
The vestibule is a fan-shaped opening, which leads to the monumental stair that descends to the water.
The tholos protects the sacred spring, and it has a round opening in the upper part, which allows the light to come in.  
The village and the remains of the nuraghe consist of numerous circular and quadrangular huts, laid out in the shape of a crown.
The sanctuary is an extremely mature example of nuragic architecture, and the different elements are organised in a linear and rational way.

Not far from here there is the little church of Santa Cristina, which is still used during religious festivals, and which gives the name to the site.
