DIVING AND SNORKELLING>DIVING AREAS>CAPO SPARTIVENTO

CAPO SPARTIVENTO

The seabeds off the southern part of this Island, which lies between the beaches of Pula and Capo Teulada, are among the most fascinating seabeds around the coast of Sardinia.

This area has been preserved in pristine condition, because large stretches of the coast are closed to the public, as they are part of a military base. For example, the beaches of Porto Zafferano and Porto Scudo are closed to the public, but the seabeds are not.

For divers, the steep faces to Capo Teulada and Capo Spartivento provide a wonderful backdrop with granite rocks descending down to 40 m.

This area is rich in various species of fish, such as moray eels and groupers, while the walls of the numerous caves are home to lobsters and squills.

The wreck of the motorship "Dino", near cala Zafferano, is a charming and easy dive.

For open water divers the Giudeo, Porto Scudo and Cala Piombo Sandbanks offer a wide range of choices.
