Sardinian handicrafts were once produced for a daily use, therefore had simple shapes. Nowadays handicrafts continue ancient traditions, but are also very refined from an aesthetic viewpoint.
Several small laboratories and cooperatives have formed, due to tourist development in the Island, and are coordinated by a regional board (I.S.O.L.A.), which organises activities.
