Costa Verde
The following day, we rode across the Plains of Arborea to reach Marceddì, a fishermen village. We crossed the swamps and tackled the hillocks, which led us down to the Costa Verde. We passed through Torre dei Corsari and Porto Palma, before finally stopping for a well-deserved lunch at Marina di Arbus.
When thinking back on our tour, Costa Verde was one of the most welcoming regions in our entire adventure so far. The amazing thing was that no one would have dreamt that it could have been like this. The unbelievable crystal-clear sea and the sand dunes in Piscinas added a more than picturesque touch to the end of yet another stage.
The bus was there waiting for us at the old abandoned mine of Naracauli, which, as it turned out, was an introduction to the following day's program. Our hotel for the night was in Arbus, where dinner was not just the ordinary hotel dinner but a Royal Banquet fit for at least 20 people, not only the company of 8 cyclists. After which, needless to say, we slept like kings till the following morning.
