ORIGINS AND MEANINGS

Reports suggest that in the early years of the 20th century, in Bosa during carnival, violent fights between opponent classes took place in the dance halls. What we would now consider the well-off middle class fought the shepherds and farm workers.

The positive thing left from that grotesque and dramatic tradition is the need to change, if only for the carnival, the rifts that exist in the community.

The real meaning of the carnival in Bosa is: laughter, gluttony and most of all every symbol of fertility and sexual desire can be expressed freely.
