OLLOLAI'S ASPHODEL BASKETS
In Ollolai, s'iscrarionzu, working with asphodels, goes back to ancient times, and down through the centuries has helped to balance the meagre family budgets of shepherds, housewives and farmers.
The women of Ollolai keep the secret of s'iscrarionzu, weaving asphodels (iscraria), an art which they learned from their mothers and grandmothers: still today, during long winters in front of the fire or in summer, outside in cool courtyards, they weave beautiful baskets.
