Departure
The group meets at 8:00 p.m. in the central square in Pula. There's just time for a souvenir photo - Marco, Simone, Michele, Massimo, Roberto and Giancarlo, "that dirty half-dozen" - and then you're off, taking advantage of the dim light remaining.
During the first lap, we exchange lies regarding our fitness: from Pula, we cross SS. 195 (loc.fra Millano) and reach the road skirting the hills for Villa S. Pietro.

There are numerous ironic comments regarding lights, which in some cases are quite spartan.
When we reach the dirt track running along the riu Lilloni, it is still dusk. The outlines of the hills blur into an indistinct blue, not bad at all.
For a considerable stretch, the road consists of stony areas and fords rendered "innocuous" by drought.
There's still time for a few photos before the sun sets completely.
In the meantime, I'm told the route winds up to Arcu su Lillu through dense vegetation and up short slopes rendered difficult by the uneven surface. Unfortunately, however, we can't complete the circuit due to excavation work for the Mt Nieddu Dam.
