The islands deserve to be mentioned apart: Isola Dei Cavoli and Isola di Serpentara, not inhabited, are a lonely paradise, also in August.
The two islands can be reached with small boats.
- The flora is well preserved and has many varieties.
- The underwater environment is rich in rare species.
Isola dei Cavoli derives its name from the Sardinian word for cavuru (crab). It is an interesting place for birdwatchewrs who may observe many birds of passage.
Isola di Serpentara has a long shape, which explains its name (snake). It is topped by the seventeenth century San Luigi Tower (54m) built by the Spaniards to protect the Sarrabus coasts.
