- Perd'e Liana, Gairo
"Tonneri" are typical large limestone towers, which stand around Gennargentu, on the western, southern and eastern slopes.
Perd'e Liana is the "taccu" par excellence, the "symbol" of the rich natural wealth of the area of Ogliastra: several ways of defining this calcareous large tower, which stands majestically in the surrounding landscape and is visible from a long-distance. It is the real "lighthouse" of the entire Gennargentu.
- Grottos "Su Marmuri", Ulassai
It is 850 m long: an exciting succession of multi-coloured stalactites and stalagmites, chasms, small lakes and high vaults spangled with beautiful concretions.
- "Staircase" of San Giorgio, Osini
It is a very narrow gorge, delimited by rocky crags and by high calcareous and dolomitic walls. You can reach a "taccu", which stretches for kilometres, going along the narrow uphill asphalted road, which rises from Osini and goes through the gorge.
- Wood of Santa Barbara, Villagrande Strisaili
This is a luxuriant, beautiful and green wood, the ideal destination for everyone looking for fresh water (there is a source along the road).You can admire a small country-church and several nuraghic and pre-nuraghic ruins.
- Wood of Seléne, Lanusei
There is an evocative sight, which is not far from the town: it is rich in vegetation and archaeological finds.
- "Tacchi" of Jerzu
"Tacchi" (or tonneri) are typical limestone large towers standing in the area of Gennargentu, in the western, southern and eastern slopes.
Jerzu tacchi have majestic and uncommon shapes and strange names: the tonneri of Porcu 'e Ludu and Troiscu, the pinnacles of Mammillara, the large tower of Corongiu. They stand out against the airy amphitheatres of Cedili and S. Antonio, which are extraordinary panoramic places, from which you can admire the valleys and the horizon.
- Natural ponds of Coccorrocci, Gairo
There is a natural sight not far from Cardedu, in Marina of Gairo: it is coloured by the intense green water and the pale red of porphyry.
The sacred well of "Su Presoneddu"
Close to the small rural church of San Salvatore, stand nuraghi and menhir, "domus de janas" (fairy houses) and the tombs of the giants.
You can visit the interesting "domus de janas" and other nuraghic remains: they stand some kilometres from the town only.
"S'Arcu 'e is Forros" Nuraghic settlement: it is only a few minutes from the National Road for Villanova; there is a megalithic tomb, in Santa Barbara wood, near the lake of Flumendosa
"Or Murales" , a Nuraghic village, and the cave of "Sa rutta 'e s'orku" along the Road 125, in the neighbourhood of "Genna 'e Silana"
Nuraghi "Alvu", "Orgoduri", "Coeserra" and a bétilo in front of the small church of S.Pietro, in the Golgo plateau (13 km from the town).
Giants' tomb in Seléne, a locality not far from the town, which is well-equipped and rich in vegetation.
