Leave Cagliari and take the S.S.131 (Carlo Felice). At Sanluri, take the S.S. 197 to Guspini. Leaving Guspini, towards San Nicolò d'Arcidano, turn left at sa boccia, a granite rock which remembers the building of the road from Guspini to Montevecchio in 1867; then take the S.P. 418. After a few kilometres, among a fairy-tale forest, is the abandoned complex of the Montevecchio mines. The road climbs and after a few bends you reach Montevecchio; at the entrance of the town is the Direction square. Continue to Via Veneto, leaving the crossrods to Funtanazza and Marina di Arbus on the right. Pass around the hill called "il Monticello", in front of the buildings in viale del Mare, you will reach the old market: turn in Via Amendola. The paved road ends after a few hundred metres; proceed on the dirt road towards Ingurtosu: our itinerary begins among the old mines set in the wild Iglesias area.
